Nine Arch Budget Stay

Travelling with children and older family members, we really appreciated how the owner helped us plan our routes. He even called while we were on the way to guide us to Nine Arch Bridge so we could catch the train, and arranged tuk-tuks for us. He checked in after our outings and was always reachable by phone or WhatsApp. After a long day out, coming back to tea was a lovely touch. We felt welcome from the start, including with a refreshing welcome drink. The team talked through breakfast choices with us in advance, with both English and Indian/Sri Lankan options. The accommodation was very clean, incredibly attentive, and perfectly central, so getting around was easy. “Come as a guest, leave as a friend” sums up how it felt here. Highly recommended!

The family atmosphere made us feel very welcome, and all four rooms we booked as a group were clean, well equipped, and fully functional. The bathrooms and showers were in excellent condition. This was the first place on our trip that even had a TV, which we really appreciated. Satheesh took consistently attentive, friendly, professional care of us. We’re also grateful to the owner, Salliya and his Wife, for their warm welcome and for explaining how to see the local attractions and make the most of our time. Renovation work is currently happening on the upper floors, which should improve the hotel further. It’s already highly recommendable, and we’d happily return once the work is complete too.

The owner was friendly, helpful, and easy to reach. He even helped us book train tickets for the Nuwara Eliya to Ella journey, which made our trip much smoother. Indian meals were available on request and tasted satisfying and homely. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to anyone staying in Ella. Their motto, “Visit as a guest and leave as a friend,” fits the warm hospitality.

The hosts were warm and welcoming, and the owner and staff gave us genuinely great service. The place was spotlessly clean, and they responded quickly whenever we needed something. It’s also in a handy spot, a short distance from Ella Town and the main sights. I’d highly recommend staying here.
