Nine Arch Gap

The view of the bridge is great, and breakfast on our private balcony was lovely. The staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. One morning we asked for breakfast early and some extra blankets, and they sorted it out. They also gave us a discount. It's an easy walk to the bridge using a shortcut, just follow the sign. A hotel tuk-tuk can take you into town and bring you back; you can text the driver, and it's cheaper than getting one from town. There was construction or renovation work while we were there, and one evening someone was still hammering at 7pm. There's no air con, but they have a standing fan. The water takes longer to heat up, though that was okay. The people were lovely, and we'd say come stay.

The valley and Nine Arch Bridge views from our room were amazing, and Nico, the family’s adorable Labrador, was great fun to play with. We were two couples sharing a king double room. It was a good size and the bed was comfortable, though the shower pressure was very poor and breakfast wasn’t among the best we had.

Breakfast on the balcony was delicious, and the service was great. Our clean, comfortable room overlooked Nine Arch Bridge, so we saw plenty of trains go by with people hanging out of the doorways. The only small annoyance was the fan’s 60-minute timer. I woke up warm a couple of times and had to turn it back on, but that’s an easy fix.

We had lovely valley views right from the room, and breakfast was brought to our private balcony. The room was clean, with nice sheets and a large, modern-looking bathroom. Sadly, the shower pressure was so weak that it was almost unusable. There were also a few small mold spots on the ceiling, along with a stale, moldy smell that made it uncomfortable to sleep. Better humidity and odor control, plus fixing the water pressure, would make this a perfect place to stay. The accommodation is up a steep hill. It’s only a few minutes on foot, but the climb could be quite difficult for some people. No other vehicles can get there from the main road, but the hosts kindly arranged a tuk-tuk to carry our bags uphill.
