We could walk straight from the house to Ella Rock and Little Adams peak, and the home still felt peaceful and tucked away, despite being just a 10-minute walk from Ella town centre. Nimalka gave us excellent local advice, especially about the best times to visit each attraction. Her husband took us by tuk tuk to four nearby waterfalls, including a ‘secret’ one that was the highlight. Our room was spacious and well equipped, with a front porch and garden overlooking nature. You can even see a waterfall at the garden’s edge. Breakfast was included, and Nimalka let us choose the time to fit our plans. We ate her homemade breakfasts on the porch, watching the view and looking out for birds. We’d highly recommend staying with Nimalka if you want to be near town and nature and get personal tips for exploring.

Nimalka and her family are so sweet, and her pancakes are incredible. The garden has lovely waterfall views. The place is quiet, but it’s still a fairly flat, short walk to the main town and liquor shop.

It took a bit of effort to find the guest house, but it was really clean and the hosts were incredibly helpful. We used their rickshaw service and got lots of good suggestions for places to see and food to try. We also had dinner there, with wonderfully fresh local food. It was one of our favourite Sri Lankan meals of the trip.

Nimalka and her family made us feel completely at home. The rooms were super clean, the view was great, and we loved the homemade meals and hot tea. Easily the best B&B stay we’ve had in ages. We enjoyed it so much we’re coming back. It’s also one of the few places in Ella that welcomes locals without charging exorbitant rates. Well done, Nimalka!

Lovely view, and the owner is very kind. Breakfast was great. The water pressure was the one drawback, it was low.
