The room, especially the bathroom, was really bad, and the staff seemed a bit off. Getting to the room also meant climbing a lot of stairs, which was hard with bags. I guess my expectations have already dropped because of the accommodation in Ella. Places seem either too pricey or dingy and off the road.

We liked it enough to stay two extra nights beyond what we'd planned. The rooms were comfortable and cool, and the place is just a little way down from the main strip of shops. The owner and staff were very hospitable. Highly recommended.

The verandah upstairs was a lovely place to unwind, with a view across the valley to a forested hill. Restaurants and shops are still close by, just off the main road. Our room was comfortable, and they had the twin beds we asked for. Service was exceptional, and they offered tea or coffee in the morning and evening for 400 lkr.

The staff kindly let us cancel a planned night without a penalty, which we really appreciated. We were still a bit disappointed: the rooms felt quite ordinary, and the place is a little away from Ella's main areas. The rooms could use attention, especially to make them a bit more mosquito proof. There are probably better places to stay, though I don't like leaving a poor review.
