Spice Ella

We had drinks at the rooftop bar more than once, and our friends stayed overnight. Their rooms looked beautiful, clean and modern. The owner is kind and genuine, and goes above and beyond to help. I'd definitely recommend staying here or stopping by for a drink. The front of the hotel/restaurant is under construction at the moment, but it's still open.

Tüzde at reception was kind, and although work was happening on the first floor, we couldn't hear it from the room. Still, guests should have been told about the construction in advance. The room was dirty, the curtains were in very bad shape, and the bed sheets were clean. The website photos were totally different from what we found. I hope you renovate the rooms.

The location is accessible and close to good restaurants and souvenir shops. The owner was kind and generous, even though a big renovation was going on during our stay. For the price, the room and service are good, but the room could use renovation. The towels weren't very white anymore and need replacing, so I'd suggest bringing your own.

Being right on the main Ella strip was handy, and the staff helped me get a scrub and water to clean my shoes. There was security at the elevator, and it's cheap, so you get what you pay for. But the room badly needs renovation. The Wi-Fi was very poor, electrical power cut out, and there was no ventilation beyond a fan circulating the air. Hallway lights were out, so I couldn't see to put my key in the door. The soap wasn't branded for Spice Ella, it was from some other hotel, and the towels were long overdue for replacement. The noise was constant. Drilling from the downstairs renovation during the day, sounds from other guests' bathrooms, a live band across the street from 6pm to 12pm, drunk people yelling from bars at 3am, dogs barking at 4am, then traffic starting at 5am. The bathroom basin was behind the door, so I had to hold it open while using the basin, and there was no light at the mirror. They know the mirror is broken but won't fix it. Steam had nowhere to escape, leaving mould on the bathroom ceiling. Lighting was poor, with cobwebs behind the bed. I killed a cockroach, so zip up your things or they'll get into your bathroom bags. For bedding, you only get a blanket, barely enough to keep warm in the morning.
