Governor's Camp Wilpattu

We had a lovely family stay in the cottages, each with plenty of outdoor sitting space. The place feels open and sits among coconut trees, and we enjoyed a relaxed afternoon in the pool. The local food was a real highlight. Mr.& Mrs. Fabian hosted us so warmly at Governor's Camp. It’s about a 15-minute drive from the property to the Eluwankulama Gate of the Wilpattu National Park.

The team even made separate meals for the children, and they were patient and kind when our two little ones made a mess. The manager and staff were attentive and did everything they could to make us comfortable. We especially loved the seafood BBQ they arranged for us as pescatarians, and the manager’s wife’s delicious cooking gave the meals a homely feel. There was lots of room for our children, aged 4 and 1, to run around safely. Our chalet was clean, comfortable, and well cared for. After a late evening safari, the pool was a lovely way to cool off. It was a memorable family stay, and we’d recommend it to families looking for a comfortable, welcoming safari experience.

The meals were excellent, with great flavor and plenty of choice. Fabian and Manoja provided excellent service, and the staff were well trained. Our rooms were very clean and tidy, and the large property was well maintained even after being badly affected by the cyclone. We spent three memorable days at governors camp Wilpattu. It’s a beautiful, peaceful place with no noise, and you can walk through paddy fields to a pristine lake and river in the morning. It’s close to the Wilpattu park entrance, and a lovely place to rest with warm hospitality and tasty food.

The peaceful setting and closeness to nature made our stay at Governor’s Camp Wilpattu really relaxing, with plenty of activities to enjoy. Mr. Fabian, his wife, and all the boys who work there were friendly and supportive, and we felt comfortable the whole time. I’d recommend staying here when visiting Wilpattu, and a couple of nights gives you more time to enjoy it.
