Frozen Villa

The rooms were clean and looked decent, the food was good, and the pool was nice. It’s set a little back from the road, which helps keep things peaceful, and the staff are super friendly. The place is only a year old, so they’re clearly keen to get good reviews, but there’s nothing wrong with that. All in all, we had a good experience.

Peacocks wander around the area, and Embilipitya town is close by. It’s a comfortable, pleasant setting with good views and a great pool. The staff are kind and take care of us whenever we visit. Meals are available at low prices, and it’s a good place for family visits or a get-together with close friends.

The manager was incredibly welcoming and helpful when we had a health problem. He took us to a good hospital on a busy day, explained everything to the doctor, then drove us 30km to our next destination. We’re very grateful. Our stay at Frozen villa was great: it’s quiet and just over 1 km from the city center. We also had a safari tour to udawalawe at a very decent price. Our knowledgeable guide spotted interesting animals easily as we drove, and the sharply designed pool was a treat on a hot day.

The owner was kind and attentive, and put a lot of effort into helping us figure out a day trip to Sinrahaya Rainforest. He offered to drop us off at different places and did what he could to make our stay easier. That care made a very good stay at Frozen Villa even better. The rooms were quiet and clean, the bed was super comfortable, and relaxing by the pool was lovely. The restaurant also serves a good curry. It’s about a 20-minute drive from Udawalaee, a good location for seeing wild elephants. We booked the safari company through the hotel at a fair price and saw plenty of elephants. I highly recommend it!
