Shaman was a big help, arranging an afternoon safari to Udawalawe and a driver for Ella. He also pointed us to a restaurant and was friendly, informative, and easy to deal with. We had a generous breakfast outside: rice, dhal, pancakes, toast, and fruit. Our host even brought more dhal when we finished it. The family-run place sits in a garden just off the main street, with mango, coconut, and other tropical trees around the modern building. Our clean, comfortable room looked onto the garden. The large bed had a mosquito net, and both the air conditioning and fan worked well. WiFi was OK. The bathroom and shower were nice, though the hot water was a little unreliable, probably because of low water pressure.

We could watch woodpeckers from our room balcony, which was a lovely surprise. The garden was lovely too, and the peaceful setting kept us away from city noise. Our room was comfortable and had a mosquito net. The location worked well for us, with a pizza restaurant nearby that made meals convenient. The host was very friendly and helpful.

Bathrooms were especially clean, and the place was good and clean to stay in. For the price, the service was good. They have rooms with AC and hot water. The person at reception was really good. There’s plenty of parking, and it’s very close to town. Recommended for families, solo travelers, business, or any purpose.

The owner was attentive, very accommodating, and helpful, and our room was clean. The city itself is loud, but the place was extremely quiet, down a back road just a short walk from the bus station. We had a very pleasant one-night stay before heading up to udawalawa. Highly recommend!

The owner speaks good English and was very polite. The location is good, close to the city center. My room was small but very clean, though it stayed really hot even after 11pm, so a room with AC would be a better choice. The bathroom hot water wasn't hot enough.
