Ceylon Olive

We had a pretty big, clean room, and the outdoor washroom gave the stay a different feel. The pool was average in size, but good for a family. Breakfast was very good, and the service was satisfactory. The property is full of trees and greenery, with a pretty, nature-friendly setting despite being close to the main road. Nature lovers should visit, but if mosquitoes or bugs bother you, be prepared 🫣.

Breakfast was amazing, and thanks so much to Eru, our tuk tuk driver. He took us around, suggested restaurants and made getting about easy and fun. Kumudu gave us a warm welcome as soon as we arrived, which set a lovely tone for our short stay. The gardens are lush, and the pool and rooms are beautiful and peaceful. It felt like a little tropical oasis, just minutes by tuk tuk from Galle Fort and the beaches.

We chose the home-cooked Sri Lankan or English breakfast, and both were yummy. The staff were kind and helpful, and Kumudu let us check out an hour late without hesitation. We really appreciated that. Our Superior Double had a terrace and jungle view, and waking up to it was so peaceful. The room was clean and beautifully kept. Ceylon Olive felt like a home away from home, with warm hospitality and care in the details. Kumudu owns and personally manages it, and he's kind, humble and welcoming. We'll recommend it to friends and family and would love to return. Wishing Kumudu all the best!

The owner upgraded our room, and it was fantastic. The rooms are outstanding, and the owner and staff are so sweet and gracious. Ceyloni Olive is tucked into a quiet, tree-filled part of Galle, which keeps it cooler in the heat, while still being very close to the main area and away from the traffic. I'd definitely recommend staying here and would come back.
