Hatale Tea Garden Bungalow

The staff did a wonderful job making us feel at home during our stay in Hatale estate. My family of 5 especially enjoyed the garden views, the well-kept swimming pool looking out over the valley, and the game room with pool, baby foot, chess and more. As a bonus, we walked through the tea gardens and visited the tea factory to see how tea goes from harvest to our cup. Thank you!

The pool was a lovely place to cool off on a warm afternoon, tucked among lush greenery and kept in good condition. Inside, the bungalow was impressively clean, and the views were breathtaking. Raju, the in-house cook, served a delicious mix of local and international food, and the warm dining room and attentive staff made meals special. Terrence, the manager, was professional and genuinely welcoming. The team helped with local suggestions, room service, and other requests, and made us feel well looked after. The rooms were spacious and comfortable too. Hatale Tea Garden Bungalow exceeded our expectations, and I’d happily recommend it for a memorable break.

The food was a highlight, with English, Sri Lankan, Indian, and street food options. You can also ask the staff to arrange a tea factory visit, where a guide explains what happens to the tea leaves before they reach your mug. We were greeted as soon as we arrived, which made a lovely first impression. The atmosphere is peaceful, and the views are spectacular, especially if you sit outside until sunset. A hike to Mini worlds end is worth considering, but go on a clear day rather than when it’s rainy or gloomy. Afterward, there’s a pool to cool off in. A great place to unwind from a busy routine.

The morning mountain scenery is stunning, and you can watch a beautiful sunrise from here. I had a good time and think everyone should visit at least once. Just be careful around the pool. Many of the tile edges are really sharp, and I let the management know.
