COCO Rooms

At Coco House Galle, the owner was welcoming and friendly, and the location made it convenient to get to Galle Fort, town, and transport. Our deluxe room looked just like the photos, clean and modern, with all the amenities. The bed was very comfortable, the AC worked well, and the balcony was nice too. Great value for money, highly recommend 😍✨🫶🏻

The family who own the property were lovely, super helpful, and made us feel welcome the whole time. It’s a safe, clean, friendly base and reasonably good value. The town centre is about 15 minutes away on foot, including the supermarket or bus station, but that distance made it quieter than the centre or the overpriced old fort area. Breakfast was adequate and nice, and I preferred the Sri Lankan option to toast and eggs. We had a room without air-conditioning, which was okay with the ceiling fan, but rooms with AC cost more. A mosquito net would have helped us sleep with the windows open. Without one, the room stayed stuffy and humid until early morning. I’d give it 4.5, but since it’s definitely not a 5, I have to put 4.

Mr. Coco was a humble, friendly host who was always smiling, and arranged lunch and breakfast for us at very reasonable prices. Traveling with my family, we found the room spacious, clean, and well maintained, with a big balcony and modern amenities in the room and washroom. This was the only place we stayed in Sri Lanka where sandals were thoughtfully provided in the bathroom. There was hot water and the water pressure was excellent. For the price, the location was great too: Galle Fort is a 15-minute walk and the train station is very close. A solid 10 out of 10 ⭐

Every floor has a big, breezy lobby where we enjoyed sitting and relaxing, and the owner was very friendly. They serve affordable meals, and the rooms are huge. The double rooms were full, so we stayed in a family room with a very big bathroom and balcony. This was the only place during our 10 day trip to Sri Lanka that provided bathroom slippers. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the train station, though the roads are a bit hilly, and we even walked to the Fort. Just note there’s no elevator, so you have to carry your bags up the stairs.
