Ging View Villa

We ended up staying for six weeks and got really close to the family. They did so much for us, and nothing ever seemed like too much trouble. They even made a birthday cake for my 83rd, with balloons, gifts, and a funny hat. My wife became best friends with the women at the villa, and the boss said I was like his dad. The pool is elegant, and the beds are huge and the most comfortable we’ve had in Asia. There’s air conditioning, too. Breakfast comes with the stay and should suit anyone who’s hungry, plus the coffee was a nice surprise. I could go on, but just go, you won’t regret it. With love, Lawrence and Romana

The villa is tucked away in a quiet spot, about a 5-10 minute drive from Galle Fort. My family and I stayed for one night, and the hospitality was outstanding. The owners were warm, attentive, and helped us figure out things to do nearby. They made us a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast, including hoppers and strong hoppers. I’m really grateful for how welcoming they were and would recommend staying here.

We spent four nights at this peaceful, sweet little villa, and each breakfast was different. The family makes great authentic Sri Lankan food, with fantastic cooking from Sandhya and Aunty Karuna. Pradeep and Gayan were friendly, helpful, and so obliging. They even arranged a tuk tuk from the railway station, with Pradeep driving us to the villa. The pool was lovely and kept very clean. I’d recommend this place to anyone who appreciates a quiet stay and kind hosts.

We were met at Galle station with a free pick-up, which made arrival easy. Sandhya and Gayan were warm, attentive hosts, and dinner was a real highlight when we ordered it in advance. Breakfast had tasty local dishes, fresh fruit, and good coffee. Our room was spacious, with a balcony where we enjoyed morning coffee, and the pool was clean and inviting. A few things could be better: Wi-Fi was unreliable, especially in the rooms, and we saw mosquitoes around the dining area, so bring repellent. The lane to the main road can flood after heavy rain, which makes getting out tricky. Even so, the food, comfort, and hospitality made this a memorable stay.
