Fort Bliss

Imran and the chef took care of everything we needed, and breakfast was generous and beautifully presented. We had a fantastic two-day stay at Fort Bliss in Galle. It's a small, cosy place with four rooms: one downstairs and three upstairs, including one with a sea view. The location is outstanding, just steps from the Fort ramparts and less than a five-minute walk to the busy area, with plenty of places to eat nearby.

The rooms have no TV or fridge, but that wasn't a deal breaker for us. There's free Wi-Fi, and if you're driving you can park alongside the property for free. My friend had a really wonderful time here. There are only four rooms, all well maintained and full of old charm. The service feels personal, and the location is fantastic, right by the rampart and a short walk from the iconic lighthouse. What a gem!

Breakfast was good and came in a big portion. The fruit platter alone would have been enough for a regular serving, and then an omelette, toast and more arrived. The host looked a bit like my old history teacher at first, but he was a genuinely friendly guy. Service was very good. Our room was large and had enough places to charge our electronic devices, unlike some other places we saw. It's a small, very nice hotel on one of Galle Fort's central streets, but calm, with the rooms facing the back toward the sea. All we heard was the sea, day and night. We'll be back!

I stayed for one night on a work trip and felt relaxed and at home, even in that short time. The room had a sea view and was a great place to unwind. Fort Bliss is a calm, well-kept villa, conveniently placed for the shops and restaurants around Galle Fort. The staff were really friendly and the food was top-notch. It was honestly perfect, and I'd definitely return for a longer stay next time. Highly recommend!
