The resort sits in a beautiful spot with a great view and access to the beach. But poor service and hospitality made our experience very average. When we checked in, the rooms weren’t properly equipped or prepared: the room phones were missing and there were no dustbins. We asked for dental kits and were told they didn’t have any, even though I was willing to pay, and they couldn’t arrange one. Even a 1/2 Star offers dental kits. Food choices were limited, especially for vegetarians, including at the breakfast buffet. Apart from the view, nothing felt worth spending on here. Overall, the hospitality and service were very poor.

We stayed five nights at the end of December with our boys, aged 10 and 5, and it was perfect for our family. The hotel is a good size for an intimate feel, so you see the same people each day and get to know them. There were lots of other kids for ours to befriend and play with, and the hotel had beach and pool toys for them. Our family suite was huge, with more than enough room for everyone to be comfortable. Staff were attentive without hovering. Since the hotel is right on the beach, with beach chairs available and the pool nearby, we could relax while the kids played in the water or pool. We’d definitely stay again!

The pool was fantastic and the food was good, and the rest of the hotel was great too. But housekeeping cleaned my room and afterwards three of my perfumes had completely disappeared. It was an upsetting breach of trust that ruined what would otherwise have been a perfect stay. The amenities and dining were enjoyable, but I strongly recommend management investigate this immediately.

It’s a great location for surfing or a family break, and the ocean view is wonderful. The facilities are clean but simple and visibly outdated. The bath equipment worked fine, and hot water came immediately when I turned it on, which is rare in Sri Lanka. Altogether, for Sri Lanka’s limited hotel availability, this is money well spent, even though it still feels terribly overpriced.

The king coconut was so fresh and refreshing, just right for a hot day at the beach. We came in without a booking to rent sun beds and have lunch and drinks, and liked it enough to return for a couple more beach days. The beds were comfortable, the setting was peaceful and right on the beach, and the friendly service brought everything out without a hitch.
