We never actually slept there, just left our bags for a few hours. There was no toilet paper or soap, no hot water, and it wasn’t particularly clean. The entrance is down a back alley that felt creepy. We booked through Expedia, but the host said they hadn’t received the reservation and asked us to pay cash. We paid in good faith, thinking Expedia might have made a mistake, but it still hasn’t been resolved. Maybe this place makes sense if your budget is really tight. Otherwise, I’d look elsewhere. I wish we had.

Some things to know about the rooms: not all of them have AC, the beds aren’t suited to tall people, and the internet is poor on the second floor and above. The location is handy, though, with most amenities close by and Galle Fort within walking distance. For a tuk tuk ride back, tell the driver to head to the hospital next door, and they should find the place.

The bus station is just around the corner, with routes to almost everywhere, and the price was really cheap. My room was clean and had a balcony. The host was so nice and friendly. I’d definitely stay again!

The shower water spread across the bathroom floor and didn’t drain properly. Still, it was a great stay for the price: the room was comfortable, centrally located in Galle, and everything was clean.
