Jungle City Hostel

The hostel felt so friendly and homely that we were sad to leave. The owner was like a mum to us, and it felt like we’d found a family. Our rooms were spacious and had aircon, linen and towels. On the first night we had an informal cooking class, which was delicious and a lovely way to chat together around the food and table. They were always ready to help throughout our stay. The free breakfast was generous, and the freshly cooked food on offer was so good that it’s still our favourite meal from all our time in Sri Lanka.

Mama took great care of me and helped arrange everything I wanted to do. The house had such a fun, friendly feel. It’s in a quieter neighborhood but still easy to get around the rest of Galle. My room and bathroom were clean and had everything I needed. I’d definitely come back if I’m in Galle again.

For the price, this is a really cute hostel, about a 20 minute walk from Galle city center. Mama seems to genuinely care about everyone around her and is a great cook. We stayed in the 8p room with air conditioning, which also had an amazing bathroom. Both dinner and breakfast were great. And a shout out to Bruna!

The host was lovely and helped us with anything we needed. Her food was delicious, and she even made late night snacks for us. The rooms were nice and the AC was good. We had a lovely stay, and I’d definitely return or try one of her other hostels. 10/10.
