I felt safe and at ease at Lahiru Villa, and would happily recommend it or stay again. It’s peaceful, while still making it convenient to get to Galle Fort, and the price feels like good value. The owner was kind, friendly, and ready to help. My room was comfortable, with a great bed, air conditioning, and hot water, and everything worked as it should.

This lovely family-run villa feels tucked away. We stayed in Room 4 on the top floor, with breathtaking ocean views, and got to have breakfast there on two mornings. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was great, and the service was attentive. Istutiiiii 🤗

Our family arrived at 6:00 PM with a five-year-old child and elderly parents, carrying a confirmed booking and proof of full payment dated March 28, 2026. The owner refused to let us in and was incredibly rude. The address on my confirmation email matched his property exactly, but he still denied the booking and gave a rehearsed “technical error” explanation, saying it had happened to others too. I believe they may be double-booking rooms to get higher prices. He sent us 20 km away to a remote, isolated area, claiming there was another “Lahiru Villa” there. Locals told us no such place existed. We were left stranded in the dark and had to pay our driver extra to find another hotel, in an area with no food or facilities. The owner now says publicly that our stay was cancelled 20 days in advance, but that is completely false. I have the full email trail and payment receipt showing the booking was active for May 2nd. Google is limiting my ability to post screenshots, but I still have digital proof of the “Confirmed” status.

The peaceful setting was lovely, and while eating breakfast we even spotted a purple faced langur in a tree. It’s close to Galle without being right in town. We first stayed in the balcony room, which was beautiful, and extended our visit because of the weather. The family was very flexible about that. Breakfast was amazing, and we ordered lunch and dinner most days too, all of it incredible. Thanks for having us, we loved our time here.

Everything went smoothly, and I can definitely recommend staying here. The owner was really nice, made us a delicious breakfast, and even did our laundry. Our room was lovely and clean, and the air conditioning worked perfectly 😌
