Le Grand Galle Hotel

The view from our room was gorgeous, and Le Grand Galle was beautifully maintained. The staff were warm, professional, and ready to help. Sachila deserves a special mention for the hospitality and thoughtful service, which really added to our stay. We had a relaxing, enjoyable visit and would gladly recommend the hotel to anyone coming to Galle. We’d love to return.

There’s a nice pool and a place to relax, though the beach is sadly very small and not suitable for swimming. The old town is about a 10-minute walk away, with plenty of little shops, restaurants, and bars. I still wonder why the shortcut is closed. Our third-floor room was spacious with an amazing view, the breakfast was awesome, and the staff were great. Thanks to Kasun for the excellent room service. You’ll definitely enjoy this hotel.

The breakfast buffet was really tasty, and the hotel had a great cocktail selection. We liked the free cocktails during happy hour from 16:30-17:30, plus the beautiful pool and view. Our first-floor room faced the ocean, with a lovely view and a spacious balcony. They also arranged a cake for our honeymoon when we arrived, which was a lovely touch. It’s a nice location, around 15 minutes on foot or 5 minutes by tuk-tuk from Galle Fort. We only ate breakfast at the hotel, but another couple told us the buffet dinner was brilliant. We weren’t really told about it when we arrived, so it would’ve been nice to get more information about the menus and offers. All in all, a really nice stay and good value for money.

Pasindu at the fruit counter was so friendly and helpful. On my last day he even found an extra passion fruit for me in the back of the kitchen. Luhith at the front desk was amazing too, always going out of his way to answer our questions, especially about getting around and buying train tickets. And Ishan made the most amazing towel animals every day! We stayed for 9 days in a spacious ocean-view room with a spectacular view and a modern, clean bathroom. I especially loved the automatic self-cleaning toilet. The hotel is stunning, the breakfast buffet had a fantastic variety, and the location is convenient for the fort, about 5 minutes by tuk-tuk or 15 minutes walking. I’d highly recommend Le Grand Galle and will definitely return one day.
