Araliya Villa Fort Guest House

We slept really well here. The villa is tucked on a quiet little side street inside the fort, with no noisy children and silence both day and night. It's also close to the gates leading to the rest of Galle. The rooms are big. NEW Araliya Villa had only opened about a month and a half earlier, and they were still adding things like pillows and air conditioning. That new aircon was a joy, quiet, powerful, and able to cool the room in minutes. The towels and bedding were very clean. The wifi wasn't working very well during our stay, but the owner knew about the issue and was arranging a new internet operator. For breakfast, try the Sinhalese option if you want a local taste. The owner's wife made it in a very clean environment. There was plenty for us, and likely enough for three more people too: cold water, fresh watermelon juice, lots of prata and string hoppers, a pancake-like item, fish curry, dahl, and a coconut and onion dish whose name I don't know. It was delicious.
