Lighthouse Guest

We only stayed one night, but got a great rest in a nice room on the first floor. It had a pleasant terrace with rocking chairs, and the location was perfect. Marikar is a lovely gentleman who does his best to make your stay comfortable. Great value for the price.

We chose Lighthouse Guest for the last three nights of our Sri Lanka trip, mainly because it’s so well placed and the hosts were kind and helpful. The room had air conditioning, too. When we decided to move nearer the beach for surfing, our host waived the cancellation fees for two nights, which was incredibly thoughtful. The room itself was in the attic, with very little daylight, and the beds were uncomfortable. Without mosquito nets, we barely slept. The online photos of the rooms and property are outdated, so keep that in mind when booking.

The owners were lovely and even gave us a lift to the bus station when we left. It’s easy to explore all of Galle Fort on foot from here. We had a few power cuts during our stay, but they were sorted out quickly. We slept comfortably and would recommend it.

From the balcony, you can enjoy a nice view in the morning, and the atmosphere is calm. The hotel is on Highthouse street in a very accessible spot. Rooms have good equipment, hot water, and other facilities, and the service is friendly. A good place to stay for a very reasonable price.
