The Bartizan is a great spot for exploring Galle Fort, with sea views and plenty of restaurants along the charming cobbled streets nearby. Breakfast was delicious and nicely presented, a lovely way to start the day. We had an issue with our booking when we arrived, but Andrew and the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful. They found a way to accommodate us and made sure we were comfortable and happy with the room. We had a wonderful stay.

Room 33 was stunning, with a huge balcony and amazing views. We even had breakfast out on the balcony, which was bliss. The staff were lovely and happy to help with anything. Beautiful views, a great location and really nice people made this a magical stay. I’d highly recommend it.

Loved the roomy balcony in our sea-facing room, and the big French doors and clean rooms had such a colonial feel. The hotel is calm and stylish, and staying here felt like experiencing Dutch life inside the fort. Breakfast choices were limited, but everything was good quality. It’s a great base for exploring Galle.

Friendly staff and lovely colonial architecture made for a great stay. There’s also a quiet local beach spot right in front, under the fortress. Nice for a swim, with or without a morning walk.

The location is good, and breakfast was very good. We had a bad experience with a small poo on our bedsheets. Staff changed them, but we still weren’t satisfied, and nobody offered any kind of compensation. Apart from that, the stay was good, though the prices felt a little high for the service.
