The Country House Chalets

The cabana was spacious and comfortable, with three full-size beds, working air conditioning, clean towels, and a peaceful, private spot at the edge of the property among trees and greenery. Check-in took about five minutes, and all three staff members were welcoming and helpful. The receptionist was especially friendly. We loved the food, particularly the Sri Lankan dishes, and my kids enjoyed the meals too. There are maintenance issues that need attention. The cabana door lock was damaged, though it could still be locked. The TV didn't work, the WiFi was slow, there was no hair dryer, and the sink tap was loose. The garden also seemed hard to maintain with only three staff, and the grass hadn't been cut for a while, with leaves scattered around. There were no lights near our cabana, so walking to the restaurant at night was difficult. With all the big trees and greenery, outdoor lighting would help make that walk safer. The cabanas are beautiful and have real potential, and better upkeep and some renovation could make this place amazing.

We checked in on 02/01/2026 and stayed with our family at Citrus Villa. It was a peaceful, beautiful place with lovely surroundings, and we had an enjoyable stay. The service was good, and the meals were tasty and nicely prepared. A few changes would make it more comfortable: the path needs better lighting at night, pool cleaning should be a higher priority, and the bathroom needs an exhaust fan. A washing basin would also be useful in the pantry area. At night the curtains are too see-through, so the room can be seen from outside. Thicker or blackout curtains would give guests more privacy. It has great potential as a quiet family stay, and these improvements would make it an excellent choice.

Nipuna and the team were so hospitable, and the calm, serene atmosphere at The Country House Galle really enhanced our Sri Lanka trip. It’s a peaceful, safe haven away from the busy city, with a great mix of glamour and nature. Everyone should get to experience it. We’ll definitely come back.

Kanchana was especially kind and supportive throughout our two-night stay, and the excellent service made us feel at home. The place is surrounded by greenery, and my kids loved how calm and peaceful it felt. The facilities were comfortable and very good, and the bed linen and amenities were well maintained. The authentic Sri Lankan food was on another level, with exceptional portions and taste. A perfect spot for nature lovers. We’ll definitely visit again, highly recommended.
