Villa Raffaello

The quiet setting made it easy to relax, and the owner was friendly and attentive to what we needed. Raffaello Villa Galle has three rooms with AC, hot water, and the essentials, plus a separate kitchen stocked with what we needed. We had a memorable stay, and it’s a comfortable, family-friendly option in Galle that’s easy on the budget. I’d recommend it.

We stayed here in Nov 2023, and Galle Fort was only 5-10 minutes away. The villa sits on the main road, with a supermarket right next door. There’s a lovely garden and usable outdoor seating, too. Inside, the rooms were clean and spacious, and the dining and living room gave us plenty of room to relax. The kitchen was well equipped, and the open bathroom had striking architecture. Our host was helpful and friendly, and kindly let us check out late. We’d be happy to return.

The garden was a lovely, peaceful place to unwind, and the villa itself felt calm despite being just off the Galle-Colombo road in Dadalla. The three A/C double rooms each had an attached bathroom, so there was good privacy, and the spacious living and dining areas made relaxing easy. We could cook in the equipped kitchen, and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable for work or leisure. The owner was friendly, helpful, and ready with local recommendations. This was one of my best villa stays in southern Sri Lanka. I’d give Villa Raffaello 10/10 and recommend it for a comfortable, peaceful stay around Galle.

Our Agoda booking had been automatically confirmed, but when I called the owner for check-in details as we were arriving, he told me the villa was already booked. We’d planned to spend a few days there with family, so I asked how that could be when our reservation was confirmed. He said he now only uses Airbnb and couldn’t remember the passwords for his accounts on the other platforms. That leaves guests arriving with a confirmed, paid booking only to discover it isn’t valid, and he wasn’t taking steps to fix the problem. This is my first bad review ever, and you can check my profile. I wouldn’t trust this setup, and advise avoiding any platform listing this villa.
