Gihan, the lodge manager, was kind and welcoming, and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. We really appreciated his help. The property is clean and charming, tucked away on a quiet lane in the fort, with comfortable beds, a fully equipped kitchen for simple meals, and hot showers with great pressure. Everything is up to date and well maintained, and all the Galle attractions are within walking distance. One suggestion: a way to open the windows for more natural light without letting in mosquitoes, perhaps with window nets. Apart from that, it was perfect. Thanks, Gihan.

The location is brilliant, with cafes and places to eat all around and easy to reach on foot. We all had a fabulous time in this stunning two-bedroom villa right at the start of the Galle fort complex. It was immaculate and super clean, with every amenity we could think of, including a full kitchen. Gilhan welcomed us and explained everything in detail. A few more mirrors would be useful. We loved the stay and would happily come back. Special mention to Gilhan, who was super friendly and informed.

We stayed for two nights, 26-27 Dec). It was clean, comfortable, spacious, and very convenient. Having two bedrooms and a washing machine/dryer felt like a real luxury after busy days walking around the fort. The accommodation is tucked behind the main streets near the fort entrance, so it was quieter than the central streets while still close to the attractions. It was lovely to return to after exploring. One small gripe: it was quite dark, and leaving the windows open for long meant giving up the air conditioning or dealing with mosquitoes. Keeping the door open during the day helped brighten it up. Gihan's service was wonderful and a lovely introduction to the people of Sri Lanka.

Gihan, the villa host, was attentive and helpful the whole time. I had a perfect stay at the Writer‘s Lodge in Galle. It's a quaint, cute two-bedroom place in the historic Galle Fort, and the fully equipped kitchen came in really handy. It ticked all my boxes. I can highly recommend this hidden gem!
