The rooms weren't made, the Wi-Fi didn't work, and there was no breakfast. The AC was broken too, and we found cockroaches in the kitchen. It's far from the beach, payment was cash only, and there was no staff on duty. We had to force the owner to give us a refund.

The grounds are lovely, with the lodge set in a beautiful botanical garden, and the “little jungle” is a memorable place to swim. Tlac, the friendly resident, is around for guests and handles things like breakfast and cleaning. The beach and town center are about a 10-minute walk away, or you can take a tuk-tuk for a small fee. The owner's friend Neel has 20 years in tourism, speaks fluent German, and can arrange almost anything. We had a great stay and would happily come back.
