Cinnamon Lodge

The food was a real highlight, especially the authentic Sri Lankan rice and curry. There was plenty of it, the flavors were fantastic, and even the kids enjoyed it. We were only at Cinnamon Lodge Habarana for one night on our recent Sri Lanka vacation, but wished we'd booked two. Every staff member was warm and attentive, greeting us with a smile from arrival through our heartfelt goodbye. Thanks especially to Chef Asindu, Gayan from the F&B team, the reception staff, and everyone in the kitchen and service teams. I'd written down more names but misplaced them, and every person there deserves appreciation for their hospitality. We had to stay at another well-known nearby hotel because Cinnamon Lodge was unavailable, and the service difference was very noticeable. The hospitality here was on another level. Thank you to the whole team for making our stay so memorable. We miss Sri Lanka already and can't wait to visit again. Much Love!

We booked our safari through the hotel, and the guide respected our request not to chase animals or follow the other jeeps. We were lucky enough to see a herd of elephants by ourselves, and the driver was amazing too. The hotel is peaceful and close to nature. We loved the birdsong in the morning, and the pool and wifi were great. Dinner through room service was easy, good value, and enjoyable. We'd recommend staying here.

Jeremy was a constant presence as our host and really wanted to make sure we were looked after. Thanks to him, Gihani and Sisira at the bar, and the lovely breakfast staff. We stayed three nights. The location by the lake is lovely, with extensive grounds and amazing sunsets. The pool was fantastic. Our room was big, with a comfortable bed and good AC, plus both a shower and bath. Some parts were a little tired. Food was fine, and the extensive breakfast buffet was good quality with something for every taste. Good value overall, and close to the amazing ancient sites of Sigiryia and Polonaruwa.

Amal, the nature guide, was amazing and knew every bird on our walk. Gihani was great at the bar in the evening, and champika was fantastic at breakfast. The lodge was comfortable and spacious, and the staff were great. Loved our stay and would definitely recommend it.
