The bathroom was dirty and had no hot water, and the staff were unfriendly. Most upsetting, the bed and linens were covered in stains from previous guests. We weren't looking for luxury, but clean bedding is a basic requirement. Avoid this place if you're passing through.

The balcony has a superb panoramic view, and Haputale town is within walking distance. We stayed one weekday night. There's a common area for making tea and coffee, and you can see a beautiful mosque in the corner, with a Tamil school and mosque nearby. There isn't private parking. The hot water in the bathroom didn't work, and the base of the hot water plug is broken and very dangerous. If you're bringing a small child, be careful because the gaps in the balcony fence aren't safe.

The rooms were neat and very clean, and we were greeted with a lovely pot of tea. Breakfast was simple but good, and the owner and staff were friendly and helpful. They arranged a long haul taxi for us at a reasonable price. The hotel itself is great, but that view alone would be enough to bring me back.

The location is handy, right in the town area and within walking distance of the Railway Station and Bus Stand. We booked two rooms for our family, and they were good for the price, though only one had a TV. We could check in early without paying extra, and hot water was available both day and night. The owner is friendly and can help with information or anything else. The in-house restaurant isn't operating, but food is available from nearby places like Olive's.
