We stayed for two lovely days as a family and felt right at home. Mr. Kiruban welcomed us warmly and was so friendly. It’s also just a short walk from the train station, which made getting around easy. The place is cozy and comfortable for families or small groups of 12-15 people. We had a great time, and I’d happily come back. It’s an affordable option I’d recommend.

For a quiet, relaxed stay, I’d definitely recommend this place. The owner and his brother made us feel at home, and the place itself felt so peaceful. The room, restroom, and the rest of the property were all clean and well maintained.

The train and bus stations are both within walking distance, as is the city center and its local market. There’s also an impressive Hindu temple nearby that’s well worth a visit. Right across the street, the Elite Peak serves very good food. We stayed two nights and used the hotel as our base for climbing the 5000 stairs of Sri Pada (Adams Peak). The rooms are well equipped, and free coffee, tea, and drinking water are available in the lobby. It’s very clean and well located, with an authentic feel of Hatton that made it a great base for the trip.

We ended up wishing we could stay longer after spending three nights here. Mr Kirby’s really goes out of his way to make guests feel at home. The rooms, bathrooms, and linen were all super tidy. The location is so convenient, right by the railway station, with a supermarket just 100m away and everything easy to reach. It’s very affordable, too. There’s a fully functional guest kitchen, unlimited free tea and coffee, a small garden to hang out in, and a comfy living room. One of my best stays in Sri Lanka so far. Highly recommend!
