The curries were fantastic, properly hot, spicy and full of flavour, without being toned down for tourists. I mentioned liking chicken curry at dinner one night, and the chef made one especially for me the next evening. The Argyle's interior looked more modern than colonial, which wasn't what I expected, but we had a really good stay. Service was excellent from the moment we arrived, the staff were very accommodating, and the pool was great. We'd love to come back.

I only had two days at The Argyle, which wasn't nearly enough. It's beautiful and peaceful, set among tea-covered hills, and the hotel carries that same sense of beauty. My room had a huge space and a lovely terrace or balcony with a view. The bed was the most comfortable I've had in a hotel for a long time, and probably the best in Sri Lanka. I chose the plan with breakfast and dinner, and would do that again. Both dinners were delicious, with generous portions of well-prepared fish. Mr. Janarthan, the hotel director, made a real difference. He replied personally when I first contacted the hotel and kept helping throughout my stay to make sure things went well. He's one of a kind, just like the hotel. I'll be back next year.

The heated pool was a highlight, and we enjoyed every meal. Our room was beautifully arranged and suited a luxury stay. The hotel is so well kept that it looks newly built. We were welcomed with a decorated bed and a little cake, which was a lovely surprise. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, and the staff were helpful and greeted us with warm smiles. Even the farewell at checkout felt unlike anything we'd experienced before. Shiva took some lovely photos of us, too. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to couples and families.

The staff made our three days especially enjoyable. They were consistently friendly, polite and ready to help, and their warmth gave the place a homely feel. The hotel was clean and peaceful, with a relaxing atmosphere that put us at ease as soon as we arrived. Our room was comfortable, thoughtfully prepared and well organized. Between the surroundings, service and overall comfort, the whole visit left us happy and refreshed. We'd love to come back.

We found the place calm, cozy and relaxing, and getting there was easy. From arrival, the staff made us feel welcome and looked after. The food was delicious, and everything was spotless and well maintained. I haven't experienced this level of hospitality at a hotel in Sri Lanka before. Truly the best. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a comfortable, memorable stay.
