Ayugiri Ayurveda Wellness Resort

Being in the furthest room, MJ, gave us remarkable privacy. From our patio and private plunge pool, we could unwind completely. We watched monkeys play in the trees and even saw a herd of cattle walking through the small river about 20 meters from the room. The hotel is a bit outside Sigiriya village and the main attractions, with no walking access, but that suited us: no traffic noise, just peace and nature. Ayugiri was one of the highlights of our trip. The hotel is spectacular, and the room was beautiful, thoughtfully designed to fit into the surrounding nature. Breakfast brought delicious fresh flavors and plenty of choice each morning. The spa treatments were deeply relaxing and one of the best parts of our stay. The staff were super friendly, attentive, and ready to help. I’d absolutely recommend it for a tranquil, unique stay near Sigiriya.

Breakfast came a bit slower than the agreed time, so keep that in mind if you’ve got a packed schedule. That was the only small flaw. The restaurant food was very good, the massage was great, and the room was huge and comfortable. The staff were extremely kind, including Lakshan and Irshan. Really recommend the resort, and I’d come back anytime.

The Ayurvedic sessions left us relaxed and re-energized. The therapists were skilled and attentive, and after two days it felt like our minds and bodies had reset. Meals were another highlight: every dish was fresh, healthy, thoughtfully made, and still delicious and satisfying. Over our two nights at Ayugiri Resort, we found it deeply peaceful and restorative. Lush nature surrounds the property, with birdsong in the morning and monkeys in the trees. Being around the animals made the stay feel magical and grounding. The staff were genuinely kind, warm, and attentive, and handled every little detail with care. Our clean, comfortable rooms fit the tranquil surroundings. The whole place encourages you to slow down and reconnect with yourself. We left feeling refreshed and rebalanced, and would love to return. 🌿

We had spacious rooms and very good service. Praveen at reception did a great job arranging all our trips, even at short notice. Suanna gave outstanding massages as an experienced ayurvedic therapist. Jeje, the chef, put together a special dinner after asking what we liked. And after I checked out and left my passport with quite some cash in the safe, the manager in charge handled it very professionally and returned everything to me. A couple of things could be better. The doors are heavy and noisy, especially the bathroom door. We actually used a string from it to a wall mount to keep it open because it was so loud. The indoor dining area isn’t very cozy, and the chairs could be more comfortable, perhaps with cushions. The outdoor dining area is nice, with a spectacular view.
