Sachin made our stay special with attentive service and thoughtful touches, and he makes great tea. The hotel is beside the lake, has a lovely patio and garden with hammocks, peacocks, sunset views, and two of the friendliest dogs we met in Sri Lanka. It’s within the Yala safari pickup area. There aren’t really any restaurants within walking distance, but Sachin arranged food delivery, so that was fine. Hot water and wifi 👍

There are lots of birds by Lake Wirawila, with plenty of outdoor seating and even a hammock. The room is very small and the bathroom could be better maintained, but the air conditioning and hot water worked.

We arrived without a booking and were welcomed in. It’s a quiet, secluded guest house right by the edge of the lake, a nice place to stay if you’re in the area.

Mornings by the water, coffee in hand and birds calling, felt like a dream. The rooms were clean, cozy, and set up to enjoy the lake views, while the staff were warm and made us feel at home. Nature on the Lake Hotel had a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful views from the moment we arrived. The food was fresh and full of flavor too. It was a magical place to relax and reconnect with nature. I’m already planning another visit, so don’t think twice, just book!
