Kaju Green Eco Lodges Hotel

Yes, there are bugs and wildlife, as you'd expect with such natural surroundings, but that's part of the ecosystem. Use mosquito repellent and sleep under the net, and you're fine. We had a stay unlike anything we'd experienced before at Kaju. The design and interiors felt so thoughtfully put together, from the open shower and clean well water to the lovely bedroom sitting area facing nature. The staff were incredible. Yasanka, Ruwan and even our Tuktuk driver Asela were genuine, lovely people, always there if we needed them. A wonderful stay, thank you Kaju!

The staff are super friendly and the food is delicious. The nature and animals at The Kaju Green enchant you as soon as you arrive. Everything runs smoothly and without stress. I'm glad I found this beautiful hotel.

After a night with almost no sleep, we left at dawn. We had arrived late and were meant to stay three more nights, but there was no way we could continue in those conditions. The room was dirty, the mosquito net filthy, and the sheets stained and torn. There was a strong, unpleasant smell, and nothing seemed clean or properly maintained. It was one of the worst hotel experiences of my life. The windows and structure were open, so nothing in the room could really be closed. We were woken very early by constant noise, including unbearable animal sounds, and squirrels came right into the room as if that were normal. Sleeping properly was impossible. The manager apologized and promised a refund. After more than a month of emails and follow-ups, they finally said there would be no refund, only a voucher to stay at the hotel again. I want to be clear: I will never return. A voucher is useless when the hotel itself is the problem. This is a scam. Poor hygiene, no comfort and no honesty. Do yourself a favor and don't book here.

More than two months later, I'm still waiting for my money. The most disappointing part has been the lack of communication and transparency throughout the process. For a property marketed as a luxury hotel with premium rates, the customer service has been far below what anyone could reasonably expect. My flights to Sri Lanka were cancelled on March 10th because of the Middle East situation, so I cancelled my hotel reservation within the free cancellation period, before any payment had been taken. A few days later, I saw that my card had been charged the full reservation amount. I contacted the hotel on March 31st and was offered a full refund, which I accepted right away. When I followed up on April 6th because it still hadn't arrived, I was told it was being processed and would take 5-7 working days. I've sent several more follow-up emails over the past two months and received different explanations for the delay. Despite asking repeatedly, I've never been given proof that the refund was actually processed. I sincerely hope this review draws attention to the problem and finally helps resolve it.
