Lanka Beach Bungalows

We only wish we’d had longer here. Everything from breakfast and room service to the pool was handled so well. The view along the beautiful, unspoiled beach was first rate.

We had to split our beach trip between three hotels because rooms weren’t available, and Lanka Beach was far better than the other two. Even though the place was fully booked during our stay, it felt like we had the beach and hotel to ourselves. Hans and the team were wonderfully hospitable, the bungalows were spacious and very clean, and the seafood was the best we tried in Sri Lanka. Easily the best stay of our two-week trip.

We spent all nine days of our first Sri Lanka trip here, and it felt like being on a private island. The beach is right outside, with loungers and a hammock available. Our spacious bungalow had a queen bed with a mosquito net, a dresser and writing desk, a minibar fridge, and complimentary tea, coffee, sugar and a kettle. Bottled water was brought each morning. The safe and large cupboards were in a separate area from the bedroom. My favourite part was the bathroom, especially the indoor and outdoor shower. Fresh towels and toiletries were always available, and housekeeping could come every other day if needed. The grounds were beautifully kept, and the infinity pool looks over the beach beside the Blue dolphin terrace restaurant. Breakfast was included and consistently delicious, with generous portions. Lunch and dinner were available throughout the day, and the food was the best we found in at least a 20 km radius. The chef checked in and was honest about what was fresh and locally sourced. Vido’s service was always warm and friendly. Manager Hansila checked in daily and gave us helpful recommendations for the area. On our last night, the team surprised us with towel art in our room. The quiet, untouched beaches and thoughtful care made this a dream location.

Lovely staff, great food and good cocktails, all right by the beach. I can’t wait to come back!
