Radisson Collection Resort Hotel Galle

The room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully kept, and the whole hotel felt clean and elegant. Every meal was delicious and well prepared. The staff were warm, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. We felt special from the moment we arrived at Radisson Collection Resort, Galle. A big thank you to nelumi, Apsara, and the whole team for such outstanding hospitality. They went above and beyond and added lovely personal touches to our celebration, making it all the more meaningful. For a trip down south, this is definitely the best place to stay. The service, atmosphere, and people all made it a top-tier experience. Kudos to Nelumi, Apsara, and everyone. Highly recommended 🌟

The kids' room was well managed, the location is excellent, and the staff were generally nice and polite. Breakfast was acceptable. Still, staff often got caught up in long conversations and gossip, and it took a while to get their attention. We paid a premium for an ocean view suite, but the experience didn't come close to a luxury stay or justify the cost. The room was poorly maintained, as the photos show. There were bluebottle flies in the shower cubicle and living room, and the balcony glass fence was shattered, which felt especially worrying for families with toddlers. The curtains were torn and badly stitched, like an unprofessional DIY repair. I found hair in several places, including the bathtub and bedside table, and sticky coffee mug marks on the bedside tables and other surfaces, along with other cleanliness problems. This property doesn't meet five-star standards. It seems to have a long way to go before it can truly claim that rating.

The pools are lovely, though the one with a DJ in the afternoon isn't our thing, so we use the other one. You can't swim off the beach directly in front of the hotel because it's a reef. Walk east for a short distance, then cross the rocks, and you'll find two lovely beaches for swimming. The gym is good, with views over the jungle. It's a lovely modern hotel with everything you need. Breakfast is excellent, with an à la carte menu. We ate at catch on our first night. The food was exquisite, though not cheap. The bar staff are attentive and fun, and they serve banana fries and dip with pre-dinner drinks. Room cleaning is good, but it never got done until the afternoon.

The staff were welcoming, the foyer looks stunning, and the pool area has amazing beach views. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable, and the balcony decent, though the rooms feel smaller than they look. Breakfast was very overpriced for what you get, with very limited variety. You can't safely swim at the beach, which was disappointing because I thought a private beach meant we could all swim. Most of the staff were so nice, but the end of our stay was frustrating. They'd agreed to a late checkout until 12:30, then at 11:50 a.m. our friends all got a call saying someone was being sent to collect the bags because checkout was at noon. They shouldn't have agreed to the late checkout if that was how it was going to go. Be careful trusting the laundry service, too. It damaged my husband's suit pants and T-shirt. The hotel calls itself five-star, but compared with other hotels in Sri Lanka, I'd rate it three-star.
