What we'll remember most about Satori Villa is how warmly we were looked after. Mr. Isanka seemed to understand what we liked and the pace we wanted, then suggested cafés, bakeries, and restaurants that suited us. His ideas felt personal, not generic or touristy. He was there from 7 in the morning to 11 at night, always calm and smiling. He arranged tuk-tuks at odd hours, handled last-minute plans, and personally drove us to hospitals, grocery stores, and local bakeries. No request ever seemed too small or inconvenient, and he never turned one down. That care ran through the whole team. The staff were warm, professional, and attentive, and it felt like being welcomed into a home and quietly cared for, rather than staying at a hotel. Chef Shanuka's food was outstanding throughout, full of flavor, beautifully prepared, and satisfying. He's world-class at his craft but humble, serving each dish with a gentle smile and quiet pride. Every meal felt nourishing and made with care. The setting was just as memorable. High on a mountain and surrounded by dense jungle, Satori Villa felt far from the world. Mist moved through the trees in the morning, with birdsong across the valley, then the evenings grew deeply still. It was raw, serene, and grounding. This is a rare place where nature, heartfelt hospitality, and service come together. We left rested and grateful, and are already looking forward to returning.
