Sielen Diva Hotel

Miraasha, Ajith, and all the staff made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to accommodate us. The location was perfect, the rooms were fantastic, and the service was top-notch. We had a lovely stay and highly recommend it.

The AC didn’t work, and I couldn’t get anyone to respond when I called and messaged at 9:30 pm to ask for a glass of water. They’d told us to contact them on WhatsApp because there are no phones in the rooms, but I basically had to go without water. The service was super bad. This is anything but a five-star place, and I wouldn’t pay so much just for the views. Views like these aren’t hard to find in Sri Lanka.

Our room, the pool, and the view were fantastic, and we really enjoyed our few days at Sielen Diva. The staff and service were outstanding, so we’d happily recommend it. We’d read comments about the “watching staff” making it hard to relax, but that wasn’t our experience. The staff were around to help in the best way. We also saw comments about a TukTuk Mafia. They just don’t like Uber drivers, as far as we could tell. Check and negotiate the price, and it’s fine. We met one driver on our first day, and he drove us on the following days for a fair price.

Breakfast was delicious and varied every day of our seven-night stay, and the wine list was a good match. The beds were extremely comfortable, and every room has stunning ocean views. Service was discreet but attentive throughout the hotel, and housekeeping came in while we were dining to service and turn down the rooms. Perfect. The beach is beautiful, though rocks and currents make it hard to access. Walk right, past the big hotel, if you want to swim. And please leave the turtles alone, don’t touch or grab them. While we were there, we saw measurements being taken for new sofa covers and a missing set of pool loungers, good to see the ongoing investment. My only small disappointment was the hairdryer. The one provided wasn’t effective for long hair, which didn’t fit the standard of everything else. We had a great stay and would recommend it for a few nights.
