We really liked being a little away from busy central Hikkaduwa. It’s quieter there, and still only about a 10-minute walk to the centre. Arcadia resort has a lovely outdoor space with lots of plants and two pools, great for unwinding. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the owner and staff were lovely.

The garden and pool made it easy to relax, and the hotel was clean and nicely presented. We got a warm welcome at Arcadia, and that friendliness continued throughout my stay. There were a few ants, so be careful about leaving food out or doors and windows open. It’s very good value, and I’d recommend it to anyone watching their budget.

The pools among the garden are lovely, and the reception and security staff were really kind. But there were lots of mosquitoes, with no incense or anything in the garden, and the showers were cold. There was no shower gel or shampoo either. The WiFi failed around 90% of the time. The hotel has a lot of potential, but for me it wasn’t very good value overall.

We only booked at the last minute, and I’m so glad we did. The room was amazing for a budget option, the outdoor space is lovely, and there are two pools. The staff were so friendly and wonderful. You’re also not far from the beach or grocery shops. Highly recommend.

The staff were so hospitable. When we arrived with wet laundry, they hung it up for us and brought cold juice and water. Then the security guard walked us to our taxi with an umbrella so we’d stay dry. Thank you, sir! We booked at the last minute and were really glad we did. The room was roomy, clean, and had good facilities.
