One of the servers here made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. He was creepy and wouldn’t let me sit on the beach and enjoy the sunset in peace because he wanted to talk. I asked him to leave me alone, but he kept bothering me, asking me to go to a party that night or come eat something. Management really needs to run background checks on the people they hire.

A really bad experience. The place was very dirty, the hygiene was poor, and the customer service was very bad. They also charged us more than the prices shown on the menu. Don’t go to this restaurant. 🤢

The staff were rude and unprofessional, and seemed uninterested in making the meal pleasant. The food was bland and unappetizing, like it hadn’t been prepared with care. The tables were dirty and cleanliness throughout the restaurant was lacking. I had a very disappointing experience and won’t return or recommend it to anyone looking for good food or service.

Athula beach is mainly an eatery in central Hikkaduwa. The dining area looks out over the beach, with Hikkaduwa fishing port off to the right. The food quality was satisfactory and the service was good. I’d recommend the Koththu, and trying the dinner menu rather than the lunch menu.
