Banana Leaf Apartments

Amila and Hannah were such thoughtful hosts. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and they really made the stay special. Amila can set up surf lessons, which are absolutely worth doing, and if you’re lucky, you might get to try his cooking too. The self-contained apartments are lovely for longer stays. Mine was private, spotless, beautiful, and surrounded by nature. I loved having coffee and relaxing in the morning. It’s a short walk to a stunning beach, great for morning walks and sunset cocktails, with lots of nice places to eat nearby. Honestly, I didn’t want to leave. A truly special place.

The apartment was stunning, with lots of space, a big comfy bed, a really nice bathroom and shower, and great WiFi by Sri Lankan standards. Everything was very clean, and the pool was cleaned every day. It’s tucked away in nature, surrounded by wildlife, and we spent ages just sitting and taking it all in. Amila and Hannah were a huge part of why this trip felt so special. They’re caring, kind, quick to respond, and always ready to help find a solution. They’re keen to support the local community and had great suggestions that made the trip feel one of a kind. Amila also gives surf lessons, and he’s a fantastic teacher. You can tell they put so much love and effort into giving people a wonderful experience in Sri Lanka. I’ve travelled to plenty of places, but I’ve never had a stay this amazing. I’d come back 100%!

The host was so friendly and went out of his way to help us. We really enjoyed staying here, especially the open kitchen, comfortable bed, and huge bathroom. It’s right beside a plantation, so we saw bats, monkeys, peacocks, and more.

We loved the quiet spot on the jungle’s edge, with great birdwatching. After a hot day at the beach, the pool was perfect for relaxing. The apartments were sparkling clean, with nice kitchens and comfy beds. Hannah and Amila are wonderful hosts and have thought of everything. Highly recommend, and we’ll be back!
