Barefoot Bungalow Hikka

We spent three weeks at Barefoot Bungalow and will be back. Our group rented the whole top floor, with four king suites and a kitchenette. A cook came three days a week to help with groceries and prepare a few meals we chose. Saffina and her team were fantastic. We coordinated activities and pickups with Saffina, including airport transport, trips into town with our tuk-tuk driver, and a week-long trip with a van, driver, and hotel recommendations. The property felt like a dream, with birds, monkeys, and a view of the paddy field. It was perfect for us.

We were absolutely delighted with this villa. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the beach and restaurants, and the rooms were spacious, cozy, and clean. The kitchen was fully equipped, the whole place very clean, and there are gorgeous balconies, a great pool, and a cozy sun lounger area. The hosts were kind and helpful, explained everything, welcomed our children with treats, and organized a fun barbecue. The staff were wonderful too and helped us with everything. Barefoot villa is the best villa in Hikkaduwa!

Loved the quiet, family-friendly setting away from the beach, with a great pool and monkeys and peacocks to watch. It’s still close enough to head to the beach whenever you want. The rooms were excellent and the place was set up with a lot of taste. Do try the chef service, the food was amazing.

We loved every minute at Barefoot Bungalo. Saffina and Chuta were unbelievably friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to make us comfortable. The villa is beautifully designed, with real attention to detail and super comfortable rooms. The location is tucked into the jungle overlooking a lovely rice field marsh, yet Hikkaduwa’s busy center and beaches are only a 15-minute walk away. A beautiful guest house.
