Coastal Grove lodge Villa

Such an exciting, great place to spend time.

Everything was just right.

The hosts made this stay especially memorable. They were kind, polite, and always checking that we were comfortable. When we asked on the first day whether the villa had a barbecue, they brought one over and set it up the next day. Another time they picked fruit for us, including bananas, coconuts, and jackfruit, and even peeled it. When they heard it was my daughter’s birthday, they surprised her with a cake and a bouquet of lotuses. Before we left, the hostess gave me a handmade tea set. I was so touched that I cried. The villa itself is spacious and newly renovated, with a crisp white finish and everything kept clean and tidy. It has three separate rooms, each with AC and its own bathroom, plus reliable hot water. The living room has a TV, a large sofa, and a safe, and there’s also a washing machine. The kitchen was neat and fully equipped with a microwave, toaster, sandwich maker, smoothie blender, kettle, stove, and refrigerator. It opens onto the backyard, which helps with ventilation. There’s a huge garden with coconut and banana palms and a huge jackfruit tree. In the mornings we saw monkeys moving through the trees, peacocks wandering around, and a mongoose on several occasions, along with lots of small colorful birds. The nearest fish beach is about a 10-minute walk away. I recommend turning left before the Pincha store instead of following the road. The scenic route runs along the river, then a paved pedestrian path where we saw swimming monitor lizards, a colony of flying foxes, and a beautiful ancient temple. Tuk-tuks are also available, and the prices are more than reasonable. We stayed from January 19, 2026, to February 1, 2026, and were absolutely delighted. If we come back to Hikkaduwa, this villa will be our choice. I highly recommend it.

The hosts were pleasant, polite, and always available to help with questions. The villa is cozy and spacious, with a lovely garden where peacocks gather. We also saw mongooses and chipmunks, along with many kinds of birds. After dark, fireflies appeared in the garden. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves nature.
