The lake view is lovely, and the location is good and calm. The food is fine but could use a little improvement. Staff and service are good, and I'd recommend the place to family and friends. The pool still needs to be repaired right away.

The restaurant serves good food at a reasonable price, with an amazing view, and you can use kayaks for free. Staff are nice, rooms are very clean, and the pool is nice too. First-floor rooms have beautiful views, though there are no TVs and the showers have low pressure. The soft mattresses were unusual for Sri Lanka. It's a super-relaxed place. One guest apparently left a tap running and used up the water supply; the problem was sorted efficiently over dinner. Thanks, Melvin.

The resort has a great view, and the staff are courteous and helpful. The rooms are average, though, and things like the water supply in the rooms need urgent repair. I think they're planning a renovation, which should help. The overall experience could be great, but the rooms feel a bit overpriced for their condition. Check whether they've been renovated before booking.

Kalla Bongo is in a nice spot overlooking the lake, away from the touristy beach area. We had a relaxing two-night stay. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the service was very good. We'll be back soon when we're ready for another holiday.

The pool and bar restaurant add a lot to this resort, and I especially enjoyed the espresso and juices. You can also go for a canoe ride. The lagoon-view rooms were neat and very clean, with a lovely view of the lagoon. One of the best places for that in Hikkaduwa, and the staff were wonderful.
