Lucky Elephant

We appreciated being moved to an excellent upgraded room, and the staff were very good. Tyrone, the head chef, and the restaurant team deserve a special mention for being absolutely amazing. But the stay was marred when one of our most expensive perfumes went missing from the room, possibly stolen. Management didn't help us resolve it or try to find the item. If you stay here, lock everything in the safe. Security and guest support were lacking.

The fruit plates the chef made at breakfast were refreshing and beautifully presented. The rest of the breakfast could use a little more variety, though. Our spacious room was lovely, and the daily cleaning was done to a high standard, including thoughtful touches like neatly folded clothes. The hotel is right on the beach, with a well kept pool, and the staff were welcoming and attentive. Thanks to the staff member whose name I didn't catch for reserving our beach sunbeds and taking such good care of us.

We had another lovely stay at the Lucky Elephant, our second time here. The pool and beach are lovely, and every day we had a reserved sunbed and great service. Christopher at the restaurant and chef Janaka served us delicious food. The hotel and rooms were clean and nice, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. They even let us use a room to shower after checkout since our flight home was late. Thanks for a lovely stay, especially to the smiling, lovely staff.

Falling asleep to the ocean was one of the best parts, and the view from the Lucky Elephant is outstanding. The place has comfortable facilities and well maintained rooms, with attentive service from the pool to the restaurant. Everyone I met was courteous and professional, with guest comfort clearly in mind. I also really liked the food: both Sri Lankan and Western dishes were carefully prepared with good ingredients, and there was plenty of variety without losing their authentic taste. A relaxing seaside stay, and one I'd gladly recommend.
