Plantation House

The garden is lush and relaxing, and the pool was just right for cooling off after a warm day. The peaceful, slightly rural setting adds to the charm. Peter was an enthusiastic, welcoming host with a fantastic sense of service. From arrival, he made me feel well looked after and went the extra mile. Breakfast was outstanding: a beautifully served two-course meal, with a choice of local Sri Lankan or Western food. Honestly, it's the best hotel breakfast I've ever had. I had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it.

Peter and Glenda are wonderful, and their hospitality was second to none. The breakfasts that Peter and his team made each morning were out of this world, with a different menu every day that just kept getting better. It's a hidden oasis in Hikkaduwa, Sri Lanka, and one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. I'd highly recommend it. Thanks so much, Peter and Glenda. We'll be back very soon.

Peter and Glenda really went above and beyond to make our stay delightful. Peter served breakfast with such pride and enthusiasm, with a different Western or Sri Lankan option each day, all at five-star quality. We spent nine idyllic nights in this tranquil haven among lush gardens. The glorious beach is an easy 10-minute walk away.

Peter made our 12-night stay at Plantation House feel personal from the moment we arrived. There was no fussy formal check-in, just easy conversation and a warm welcome. He's the heartbeat of the place, full of stories and humour, and always happy to share advice about where to go, how to get there, good restaurants and cafes, and sunset viewpoints. His local knowledge, fun energy, and character made the stay exceptional. We loved the peaceful feel of the tropical gardens and spent time relaxing by the pool. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with fresh milk and water in the fridge for tea and coffee. Breakfast was fabulous, fresh, delicious, and different every day. Peter even used coconuts from his own trees. We genuinely didn't want to leave. For a tropical escape with a personal touch, we can't recommend Plantation House enough. We'd love to return.
