What I wanted after a hectic few days was some peace, and I got plenty of it during my four nights and five days here. The place is in a quiet stretch of beautiful Narigama beach. The scenery is lovely, with lots of restaurants and sunbeds, though the waves are huge and going into the water didn’t seem advisable. The rooms are clean and well equipped. Mine had a locking cupboard, working air conditioning, comfortable furniture, and a coffee maker with tea and coffee supplies. The bathroom was fine too, with good fixtures, towels, and soap. I had the upstairs sea-view room, with a small semi-private sitting area. Since I was the only guest around during the day, I also had the big shared terrace to myself, with amazing blue sea views. The food was great. I especially recommend the Sri Lankan omelette and, even more, the prawn curry. I liked it so much I ordered it several times. Talin and his sweet family deserve a mention too. He’s mild-mannered and went out of his way to help. After I left, he even checked that I’d arrived safely. His children were a joy, and I really enjoyed talking with them. I’m looking forward to visiting this delightful little homestay again.

For a beachfront stay, I thought we got a lot for the price. The room was okay, and the balcony view was super nice. I caught myself stargazing out there several times. The owners were so kind and helped us with everything we needed.

We had our first family reunion here after nearly five years and really enjoyed it. It’s a lovely place, with a kind, helpful, and entertaining family taking care of the property. I’d recommend it.

The family were wonderful, so kind and helpful, and the food was great at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our son said the chicken fried noodles were the best in Sri Lanka. We had a big, clean family room on the top floor. A great place to enjoy Hikkaduwa’s fantastic beach.

The beach was beautiful and really clean, and staff were constantly cleaning the area and brushing sand off the sunbeds. The room had good air conditioning and hot water. We also liked being in a quieter part of Hikkaduwa, where there were plenty of local restaurants and cafes nearby. The busier center was easy to reach on foot or by tuktuk, but we preferred this area. We started in a standard double, but it was too noisy beside the main road. After moving to the sea side of the house, we were much happier, with the steady sound of the waves. A lovely stay at Tamaro beach resort.
