Gayan was such a friendly host and went out of his way to make our stay memorable. We had the property to ourselves, with a quiet, private garden and a lovely pool to enjoy. He cooked us an excellent fresh seafood dinner, served at a candlelit table in the garden. Breakfast was great too, with plenty of fresh fruit and homemade bread. Hikkaduwa is a wonderful place to stay and enjoy the beautiful beaches.

The place wasn’t clean, and it seemed they cared only about foreign customers. We felt like a burden. The guys working there had bad attitudes and didn’t even know basic customer service. They overcharged us. I hope the service improves in the future.

Lotus villa was one of the most comfortable places we stayed during our visit to Hikkaduwa. I can’t believe some of the bad reviews. The owner was really friendly and helpful, and the villa was very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend.
