Villa Blu

We spent a week at Villa Blu in Tangalle in January 2026, and it was a fantastic break for the two of us. The meals were a real highlight, from varied breakfasts to dinners with some of the best seafood we had in Sri Lanka. The restaurant serves both Sri Lankan and international food, and everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and nicely presented. The beachfront setting is peaceful, with sea-view rooms, a lovely pool, and direct access to the beach. It’s the sort of place where we could slow down and properly relax. Kamal and the team brought a lot of warmth and personal care to the stay, and did far more than we expected. Their hospitality turned a great hotel experience into something special. We’ll be back, and already miss them and that little piece of paradise. Highly recommended.

The long, secluded beach right outside the door made the place feel like paradise, and the quiet atmosphere was exactly what I wanted. It’s an oasis of calm, spotless throughout, and I felt at ease because everyone took such good care of me. The staff and manager Kamal were the main reason this became one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. The food was delicious and came in large portions, with fresh ingredients from the hotel’s garden. Prices were very fair, too. There’s nothing I can complain about. I’d love to return and recommend staying here. Thank you for such a lovely time.

The location is remote, and there isn’t much to do right nearby. We didn’t try the boat safari, which is said to be very good, and there’s also a yoga and massage place close by. For us, the peaceful setting and the crashing waves were just what we wanted. We spent happy mornings and sunsets walking along the beach. It looks beautifully untouched, though the sea is quite rough. The property overlooks Kalametiya beach, with spectacular views from all around. With only five bedrooms, Villa Blu feels like a private villa. The staff were kind and caring, and even remembered how I take my morning coffee. Our ground-floor room had a comfortable bed, quiet air conditioning, and the best WiFi we had during our travels around Sri Lanka. The food was delicious and plentiful, and we enjoyed chatting with the other guests. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you to all the staff 😍

Kamal and Mithun checked in on us now and then to see if we were comfortable, and tried their best to meet our needs. The service staff were warm and sincere throughout, and the food they prepared was delicious. Villa Blu is a small place, which gives it a lovely intimate feel. Our room was clean and comfortable, and we especially enjoyed relaxing by the pool. The quiet, uncrowded stretch of beach just in front of the villa was another favorite. It was a memorable, cozy stay, and we’d happily come back.
