Jetwing Villa 700

We accidentally left a toy car behind, and Maleesha called to let us know it had been found and kept safe for us to collect. That small gesture really felt like true hospitality. We had a wonderful weekend at this cozy, homely property, with the warmth of Sri Lankan hospitality throughout. The Jetwing Group’s reputation for authentic cuisine came through in every meal, and they happily made special dishes for our 5-year-old. Mr. Maleesha and Chef Iroshan deserve a special thank you for their exceptional service. I’d highly recommend the place to local and international travellers looking for peace and quiet in southern Sri Lanka.

Hasal, the in-house chef, and his team were outstanding. Their professionalism and attention to detail made the stay even more memorable. My partner and I were there for one night, and the food was fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully prepared. The staff were friendly and attentive from the moment we arrived, making us feel welcome and comfortable.

Breakfast was bland, and when there were more than 8 guests, the place felt chaotic and unprofessional. Food took a long time and some orders came out wrong. There was only one long dining table, so we had to sit with other guests without any privacy. The room they first gave us had sealed windows that couldn’t be opened. It was gloomy and dark, with no natural light, like a prison. We paid a lot for it and asked to move to another room, which cost extra. The online photos look nice, but the hotel itself felt old, unclean, and in poor condition. Definitely not what I’d expect from a 4-star hotel.

The beachfront location was the one real plus. We spent two nights at the villa with family, and it looked much better in the photos than it did in person. Maintenance seemed poor, service was slow and laid-back, and they didn’t clean the pool every day. Dinner was good, but breakfast was a letdown. The soup listed on the menu wasn’t served because the “vendor failed to provide ingredients” 🙄. The Sri Lankan breakfast was really poor too, dry and cold, and seemed like day-old food. When we complained, staff just smiled. Definitely not worth the money.
