Green Grass

I was in Jaffna for work and had a good stay at Green Grass Hotel. After busy days, it was nice to come back to a comfortable room. The rooms were clean and well maintained, and the food was very good, with tasty options during the stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and made sure guests were comfortable. I'd recommend it if you're visiting Jaffna and want a comfortable hotel with good food and service.

After booking two triple rooms, we checked into your hotel on 11.04.2026 at around 1.30 p.m., though official check-in was 11.00 a.m. I'm a staff member at a reputed financial institution in Sri Lanka. We found that the air conditioning wasn't working properly, the TV didn't work, and a curtain holder in one room was damaged and hanging halfway down. When we told the lady receptionist, she said the TV would have to be handled by an outside vendor or another relevant party. We also reported the curtain, but nothing was done promptly and her response wasn't satisfactory. By 10.30 p.m. the problems were still there. Only after I firmly raised the issue did a room boy come and offer us a room change. The next day, we left for a pilgrimage tour, with one person remaining in Room 114. We had asked the restaurant at 8.00 a.m. to arrange lunch, then followed up at 10.30 a.m. and 11.30 a.m. The meal still wasn't provided. This was especially concerning because the guest in the room has diabetes and needed meals on time. This was extremely disappointing. Hot water was available, and the food was awesome. The location is very close to the railway station. But the receptionist was really bad, with no politeness and no idea how to speak to customers. The bedsheets and furniture were dirty, and there were no towels. They'd used a towel as a floor mat. I was really disappointed with the receptionist.

For the money, this hotel wasn't worth it. The room was very dirty and basic facilities were missing, including towels. I've stayed in cheaper places with much cleaner rooms and better facilities. A very disappointing experience.
