For 4500 rupees, the single AC room is reasonably priced and comes with hot water, an iron box, a mirror, TV, and a refrigerator. The service was good, but the room itself was very dirty, dusty, and full of spider webs, with far too many mosquitoes. The bin hadn't been emptied and smelled awful, with liquid still inside. The sheets and pillow covers were old-looking and unclean. The refrigerator hadn't been cleaned in a long time and couldn't be used. The washroom was dirty too, and a bucket in it was full of mosquito larvae.

I've never had such a bad experience. There was dust in the room, the bedsheets weren't properly clean, and neither was the washroom. There was even a plaster with blood on it. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The large rooms, mattress, security, refrigerator, and price were positives for me. I'd give UK Inn 3.5 stars. Old Blighty probably wouldn't recognize it as British, though it might approve anyway. Whether I'd recommend it depends on your priorities, but I'd come back. There was dust all over the room, and some odd cream-colored goo was leaking through the concrete floor of the first-floor corridor. Mosquitoes filled the room for the first day and night until the electric repeller started working. The toilet seat was loose, the bathroom smelled, and water from the AC drain hose left the floor wet. The cable TV box was faulty at first and got replaced after a couple of hours of hassle, then the cable connection disappeared again on the morning we checked out. There weren't enough power outlets either, though staff eventually brought us two power boards. The main circuit board kept tripping. TV and the bathroom were among the downsides.

Handy for a night near Jaffna Town. Can recommend!
